PROSE supports SBB in being able to provide their internet service to customers without a Swiss SIM card
Currently customers cannot surf the Internet free of charge on SBB trains. Therefore, during Summer 2019, SBB carried out a technology test for free internet on trains under the name SBB FreeSurf. The free Internet service is based on the good mobile phone coverage with 3G/4G in Switzerland and offers customers a fast, fluid Internet connection. The new solution was based on the premise that customers have a Swiss SIM card to use. For customers without a Swiss SIM card, for example tourists, the following process needed to be carried out.
PROSE supported the client SBB in being able to provide their internet service for the customer group without a Swiss SIM card. This was done via the corresponding user profiles and through calculating their quantity structure via already existing data fragments. Additional trend studies extended the decision perspective of the client in terms of sustainability, as innovative concepts and technologies were carefully examined and integrated.
