PROSE providing TRANSTECH with engineering support for RNV tram
SKODA TRANSTECH Oy is supplying ForCity Smart trams to Rhein-Neckar Verkehr GmbH (RNV) in three different versions (3,4 and 6 section vehicles). TRANSTECH has therefore asked PROSE for engineering support including vehicle dynamics simulations, derivation of load assumptions and elaboration of component specifications for the development of the new RNV tram versions.
PROSE has previously already supported TRANSTECH with bogie engineering services for the Artic 3-section vehicle as well es the new X54 articulated tram, both for the Helsinki networks. A feasibility study performed in 2017 (running stability and ride comfort Rhein-Neckar-Tram 2020) showed that the RNV requirements can be met with a 3-section vehicle with minor modifications. A study concerning various longer version was performed by PROSE 2013.
PROSE is therefore well-qualified to provide the requested engineering support in an efficient way.

PROSE investigates and evaluates BVB unusual infrastructure damages
Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe (BVB) have optimized several processes in its technology management division and made changes to its organizational structure following the discovery made last summer of unusual damage on its tracks. This discovery showed a different, new damage pattern which can be attributed to a maintenance backlog in wheelset machining. The BVB Board of Directors wanted to understand the circumstances and causes as well as the administrative and personnel responsibilities that led to this maintenance backlog. The board therefore commissioned an independent external investigation for which the results are now available.
