PROSE receives recognition as independent verification body for the calculation of vehicle-specific track access charges from the Swiss Federal Office of Transport

Since 2017, the Swiss track access pricing system has taken into account the vehicle specific wear of the trackside infrastructure. The determination of the respective vehicle price is linked to the issue of the network access permit. The Railway Undertaking or the vehicle owner has the option of calculating the specific vehicle price for a new vehicle to be placed into operation, which is in principle lower than the default price to be applied otherwise.

The calculation of the vehicle price can be carried out by the RU itself, the vehicle manufacturer or an engineering company. The Federal Office of Transport (FOT) then requires an independent verification of the data, the modelling and the calculation by a recognized verification body. PROSE has now been recognized by the FOT as an independent verification body.

Goldenpass Express: The gauge changing bogie and the associated gauge changing system in Zweisimmen were successfully tested and presented to the public

PROSE was significantly involved in the development of the prototype for these bogies as well as the track side gauge changing facility. This bogie is a world novelty, as it not only adapts the gauge from standard gauge to metre gauge, but also adapts the height of the vehicle to the platform height (in this case a difference of 180mm).
